ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES AND FINANCIAL AID

NEW STUDENT APPLICATIONS
Applications for the 2008-2009 school year are being accepted (beginning in December 2007), subject to the availability of space in the grade to which the application relates. The filing deadline for first-round admissions for the 2008-2009 school year is March 3, 2008. Applications received after March 3, 2008 will be considered on a rolling basis and will be subject to enrollment limits in each grade. Notification of enrollment decisions will be communicated beginning in late March/early April 2008. An initial deposit of $750 and the executed enrollment agreement must be returned to Parker School on or before the deadline date in the acceptance letter to ensure the reservation of a space for the 2008-2009 school year.

To apply, please complete the application materials in accordance with the instructions and submit them to the Parker School Admissions Office, together with a $75 non-refundable application fee.

Middle and Upper School Applicants (Grades 6 through 12)
Materials to be returned directly to Parker School include the Application and the Parents’ Questionnaire. The Consent for Release of Information is to be sent directly to the school that the student most recently attended. The two Teacher Reference forms should be given directly to the two teachers designated to submit references for the student (one to math teacher, one to other academic subject teacher).

Lower School Applicants (Grades K through 5)
Please return the Application to Parker School. If the applicant has attended school prior to this time, the Consent for Release of Information is to be sent directly to the school that the student most recently attended, and two Teacher Reference forms should be given directly to the teachers designated to submit references for the student. One reference will come from the head teacher, the other from a teacher from another area of activity. If the applicant has not attended school prior to this time, the Consent for Release of Information will not be utilized and you may submit a reference letter from a source other than a teacher if you so desire.

FINANCIAL AID
The new student application deadline for financial aid for the 2008-2009 school year is February 13, 2008. Applications are available from Parker School, or may be downloaded from www.nais.org/financialaid/sss. They are to be sent directly to the address provided in the financial aid application. Please notify Parker School if you are submitting an application for financial aid. Notification regarding the grant of financial aid to new students will be mailed on or about April 4, 2008. Financial aid availability is not guaranteed for otherwise qualified new applicants who submit financial aid applications after February 13, 2008. (Applications for financial aid for returning students will be due on February 6, and families of returning students should contact the school’s business office for further information).

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT
Parker School conducts two academic assessments as part of the admissions process: math and writing. These assessments may be conducted at the time of the admissions interview or at such other time as Parker School may determine before the beginning of the 2008-09 school year.

SSAT Parker
School does not require that SSAT scores be submitted at the time of application, however, we welcome the inclusion of SSAT scores if available. Students in appropriate grades are encouraged to take the SSAT when it is locally administered in January.

FURTHER INFORMATION/INTERVIEW
Please contact the Admissions Office at (808) 885-7933 x107 with any questions regarding the admissions process. If Parker School determines that an interview with the student applicant is desirable, the Director of Admissions will communicate with you to make arrangements for the interview.

CAMPUS VISITS
Students and parents or guardians are welcome to make appointments to tour the Parker School campus. Additionally, students in grades 6 through 12 are welcome to make arrangements to spend all or part of a school day with a student host, attend classes and otherwise join in the school’s activities during the day to learn more about the Parker School experience. Arrangements for a campus visit and/or a student-hosted visit should be made with the Director of Admissions.
